Arrival. Start of ascent to the peak of mt. Homyak (1542 m), which belongs to the south-eastern part of Gorgany in the Ukrainian Carpathians. The path has the serpentine form, so the ascent load is almost not felt.

Rest at peak. Mother of God statue. As envisioned by the authors, it should be illuminated at night; in order to achieve that a storage battery, which is powered by the sun, was installed upon the mountain. The isolated position and considerable height of mt. Homyak makes it possible to observe the landscapes that exceed the other described mountains in their length. It is considered that Homyak has the most regular shape than all mountains in the Carpathians. It stands in an even cone, that is why some people compare it with the Great Pyramid of Cheops.

Organized descent from the peak north westwards through the polonine of Zhenetsky mountain stream. A source of tasty water flowing out of the massif of Homyak peak is there.

Stop at Homyak polonine, spreading out between mt. Homyak and mt. Sinyak. Dinner (lunch-box) in the open air. Visit to Hutsul hut (treating with organic smoked sheep cheese).

Organized descent through the forest area to the sources of Zhenetsky mountain stream.

Arrival. Excursion program in historical and architectural complex “Manyava Skete” (1611), the founder of which was born into Athos, monk Job Knyaginetsky. There was a time when this monastery reported directly to Patriarch of Constantinople. In 1620, Patriarch of Constantinople granted the stauropegia right to skete. In the middle of the 17th century, there were approx. 200 monks in it and dozens of dependent monasteries in Galicia, Bukovina and even in Moldova. According to reliable sources, Hetman of Ukraine I. Vyhovsky (1664) was buried in the skete. History hides many secrets still unresolved. The healing properties of water, which is collected inside the cave formed in the huge stone that lies upon the mountain close to the monastery are still the biggest mystery for researchers. For as long as anyone can remember, the monks have used this water to heal the sick persons, therefore, no wonder, this block mass was called the Blessed Stone.
